Cellular Notification

Thebes cannot send a message directly to your cellular phone, but instead it sends the message to your mobile phone's email address.

Just set the email notification service in your account to send the notification to that email. Now every time you get an email in you inbox, Thebes will send an email to the phone's email address which will then send you the notification message.

You can use this feature with the POP3 feature. Set up the POP3 service in your account to get messages from another email account that you own. If there are any new messages in this second account, Thebes will get these messages and store them in your inbox. Thebes will then send you a notification to your phone. This way you can monitor all of your mailboxes from Thebes, and know if you've got any new mail.

How to get an email address for your Mobile Phone?

Some GSM companies create an email address for every cellular phone on their network. it will look something like this yourphonenumber@gsmcompanyname.com . Check out with your GSM company to find out if that is true for you.

The majority of the companies don't have such a feature (eg. in Egypt the 2 companies don't offer that service.). So you have to make an email address for your phone at one of the services on the internet.

I will only mention the free services, but you can always find paid services if you want to pay.

Quios

www.quios.com go through the registration process as usual. Registeration is free. You get alot of features besides the email address. You can get notifications about the weather, horoscope, business, technology, etc.... Once you've finished your registeration your phone's email address will be yourusername@quios.com (eg. my address is dr.hazem@quios.com). Now try it out. Send an email to this address, you should recieve the name of the sender and the subject of the message. The rest of the message is not sent.

Please notice that there is a bug at quios. If you choose to get the alerts to your phone only, it will not work. You must enable the option that lets you get messages to your email too. This may fill your mail with junk. So you could set a filter to delete all incoming messages from quios. Do not block messages from quios, just delete them. As an alternative, you can set up a dummy email address at any free mail service and send this junk over to that address.

Currently this is the only service I know which works with the 2 GSM companies in Egypt.

Others

These are good services but they don't work for Egypt. They may work for you if you live elsewhere.
